The Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Association (CYMEPA), which is an associate member of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), is the body responsible for the strict Blue Flag Campaign on the island, whilst the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) has the role of the Blue Flag National Coordinator. The CTO also offers financial support and advice to local authorities, and subsidises projects and activities relating to beach safety, cleanliness and qualitative improvement.
