Between the municipalities of Ayia Napa and Sotira, there is a small chapel dedicated to Saint Thekla. Both municipalities claim that the chapel belongs to their region, and this is not unrelated to the archaeological wealth believed to exist along the coast of Agia Thekla. The chapel of Saint Thekla the Protomartyr and Equal-to-the-Apostles is a small church near the sea, situated between Ayia Napa and Sotira. The church, painted blue and white, stands against the backdrop of the vast, clear blue sea and is built next to the ruins of the old original temple, which dates back to the 4th century.
